Custom software, without the usual drift.
Custom software has a bad reputation, and it is deserved: budgets that drift, lock-in to the supplier, data held hostage. Four rules cancel those three risks, and you will find them word for word in the contract.
FIRST CALL WITHIN 48 H · AGREED HOURLY CAP · NO SURPRISE INVOICE · DATA IN FRANCE
Each rule cancels one risk.
We are a young French studio and we say so: no borrowed logos, no invented averages. Instead, commitments you can check, because they are in the contract and you can read them there.
A first 15-minute call, free and with no commitment, offered within 48 hours. You describe what you need, we tell you straight whether we are the right people, and whether software is even the right answer.
You do not sign on promises: you try a prototype, in your team or in your family, within a first capped number of hours, before deciding what comes next. The prototype decides, not the brochure.
Billing is hourly, at a rate we agree together after the call. Before anything starts, you approve an estimate of the hours and a cap. No surprise invoice.
Your customer records, your orders, your family accounts: they are your data. Database in France, hosting in the EU, GDPR, a full export whenever you ask, including on the way out.
These four rules are not a sales promise: they appear in our terms and conditions, which you can read before you ever call us.
From the first call to production.
Five steps. At each one you can stop, and you know what the next one costs before you start it.
The first call, 15 minutes
Free, no commitment, offered within 48 hours. You describe your situation in your own words. We tell you whether we are the right people, and whether software really is the answer. Sometimes it is not, and we say so.
Scoping and the quote
We agree the hourly rate together, write down what is to be built, and you receive an estimate of the hours with a cap. Nothing starts before you have approved that cap.
The prototype
A first bounded batch of hours, producing something you can open and use. You try it for real, in your team or in your family. That is what decides the rest.
Building
We build in batches, with a regular check-in and the hour counter visible. If a request falls outside the scope, it gets a priced amendment before it is built, never after.
Going live, and after
Launch, training for the people who will use it, and a full export of your data handed over with it. After that, either you take it back in house, or we host and maintain it on a monthly fee.
What you keep
For custom work the code belongs to you, your data does too, and you can export it whenever you want. If you leave, you leave with everything. It is the only honest way to sell custom software.
What we do not do.
Saying it up front saves you a pointless call.
We build software, not professional advice.
Focusme is not a law firm, a notary's office, an accountancy practice or a wealth adviser. The software we build organises and presents the information you put into it; it does not replace the opinion of a legal or financial professional.
We also do not run advertising campaigns, social media or video production. On the technical side, by contrast, we go all the way to production and stay on to maintain it.
Full conditions → our terms
Before you call us.
How much does a project cost?
The ranges by project type are published on the services and prices page, excluding VAT. Beyond those, billing is hourly, at a rate agreed together after the first call, with an estimate and a cap you approve before anything starts.
What if my project is still vague?
That is true of most first calls. Fifteen minutes is enough to tell whether it is worth digging into, and where to start.
What happens if the hour cap is reached?
We stop and we talk. You decide whether to stop there or approve a new cap. No hour beyond the approved cap is ever billed without your written agreement.
Who owns what gets built?
For custom work, the code belongs to you. Your data belongs to you in every case, and you can request a full export at any time, including if you decide to leave.
Where is the data hosted?
The database is in France, hosting is in the European Union, and processing is governed by the GDPR. The details are in our privacy policy.
Do you work with open source tools?
Often, yes, and it is frequently what we recommend: no per-seat licence, no lock-in to a vendor. We select them, install them, connect them, and we can host and maintain them for you on a monthly fee.
Fifteen minutes, and you will know.
It is free, there is no commitment, and you leave with a straight opinion even if we do not work together.
